Subscriptions & Billing

1. What subscription plans does Ava offer?

Ava offers three plans — Quick Check-In, Gentle Support, and Extra Care — each with different call minutes and features. Pricing varies based on the number of elders and any Extra Time Protection you add.

2. How much does each plan cost?

Prices are shown on the Plans screen before you subscribe, including the base rate and any Extra Time Protection add-on. All prices are billed monthly through your Apple ID.

3. Is there a free trial?

Yes, new subscribers get a free trial period (shown on the Plans screen, typically a few days) before any charge is made.

4. When will I be charged after the free trial ends?

Your card on file with Apple will be charged automatically when the trial period ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it expires.

5. Do subscriptions automatically renew?

Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

6. How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Calling Ava, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also tap "Cancel Subscription" from the Plan screen in the app, which opens the same Apple management screen.

7. If I cancel, will I lose access immediately?

No. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again after cancellation.

8. Can I switch between plans (upgrade/downgrade)?

Yes, you can change plans from the Plan screen at any time. Changes typically take effect at your next billing cycle.

9. What is Extra Time Protection and how is it billed?

Extra Time Protection gives your elder additional minutes per call so conversations aren't cut off. It's billed as an add-on to your base plan price, shown as a separate line item before you subscribe.

 10. Will I be charged again if I already have an active subscription?

No. If you already have an active subscription, purchasing again will not create a duplicate charge — use Restore Purchases instead to recover access.

Restore & Refunds

11. I made a purchase but it's not showing in the app — what do I do?

First, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase, then tap Restore Purchases from the Plan screen or the Missing Purchase help page.

12. How do I restore my previous purchases?

Go to Settings → Help → Missing Purchase, and tap "Restore purchases." This restores any active subscription linked to your Apple ID at no additional charge.

13. How do I request a refund?

Go to Settings → Help → Request Refund, and tap "Request a refund." This opens Apple's official refund request flow.

14. Who approves refund requests — Ava or Apple?

Apple. All refund decisions are made solely by Apple according to their refund policies — we don't process or approve refunds directly.

15. Will restoring purchases charge me again?

No. Restoring purchases never results in an additional charge.

Account & Data

16. Is my personal information safe?

Yes. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication to protect your data, and we never sell your personal information.

17. What data does Ava share with Anam AI, and why?

During AI companion calls, your voice input, spoken words, and elder profile context (like name and interests) are sent to Anam AI solely to generate real-time AI responses. This only happens after you give explicit consent in the app.

18. Can I use Ava without agreeing to share data with Anam AI?

AI companion calling requires this data sharing to function, since Anam AI powers the conversation. You must consent to proceed with AI calling features.

19. How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Account settings and select Delete Account, or contact us at avacalling8@gmail.com. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

20. Who can access my elder's information?

Only the caregiver account that added the elder, and any family members explicitly granted access through Family Access settings.

 Elder & Calling Features

21. How many elders can I add to one account?

You can add up to 2 elders using the same phone number on your account.

22. What happens if my plan doesn't have an active subscription?

Call scheduling and companion calls are paused until a subscription is active. You'll see a "No active subscription" message in the affected sections.

23. How do call schedules work?

You set specific times for Ava to call your elder each day. You can adjust these anytime from the elder's Call Schedule tab.

24. Is Ava a real person or an AI?

Ava is an AI companion, not a real person. This is disclosed during every call to ensure transparency.

25. What happens if minutes run out during a call?

If you've added Extra Time Protection, the call continues using those extra minutes. Without it, the call may end once your plan's minutes are used up.
